The Sharing Knife: Legacy

1) Dag was right - the Bluefields have nothing on his family!
2) I want Wide Green World now!

I wonder how spoilery I can get and not give away the plot? Probably quite...

Partial cast of characters (I'm only listing new ones, and not all of them)

Cumbria - Dag's mother
Dar - Dag's brother, the sharing knife make
Omba - Dag's sister-in-law, the horse-trainer

Fairbolt Crow
Massape Crow - Fairbolt's wife

Cattagus - Mari's husband
Sarri - Razi & Utau's wife

Hoharie - medical maker
Othan - apprentice medical maker

There are more, but I think that hit's the high points.

Plunkins (they're kind of like squash, but not really). Swimming lessons. Canoing (but they just get called 'narrow boats). Two visits to Dag's water lily patch!

Cumbria and Dar are NOT happy with Dag's marriage. Omba is ... resigned? Neither Cumbria nor Dar really sees Dag as he truly is - or maybe they just won't accept it. I'm not certain which. Whatever, they are both very aware of their dignity and status in the camp, and they both see Dag's marriage as a threat.

Dag gets appointed (temporary?) company captain. Dag doesn't kill another malice - Dirla gets the credit on this one, with Mari's knife. It was a really nasty malice - possibly worse than the one that cost Dag his first wife. Fawn gets stubborn, and saves the day (again). Dag gets offered what is (I believe) one of the top three jobs in a Lakewalker camp - medical maker (and probably the most all-around popular / liked of the top three - IMAO, the other two are patroller camp captain and sharing knife maker). Dag and family get their (first?) day in court.

Oh, yeah - one other new character - Dag Bluefield. He's no longer Dag Redwing. And I'm not certain about the Hickory.

Edited to fix: Omba's exact relation to Dag - thanks, Agnes

Well Well Well.

I finished up about 11:15 last night.

"I thought you said you'd turn around"

"I did. Twice."

Kinda sums up the whole thing right there. But in context, it was a little painful snorting 10 yr old Bushmills into my sinuses.
