Anyone have a copy of American Eccentrics by Carl Sifakis?

The amazon.com page claims it's a hard-cover from Galahad Books, April 1994.

Does it have a write-up in it for Timothy Dexter? He apparently made fortunes shipping Bibles, bed-warmers, mittens & caps to Jamaica, shipping coal to Newcastle, and buying up all the whalebone in America. And did all of these at the perfect time. By pure luck.

He did give a Toastmaster's speech that was based on information in the book I'm looking for.

Unfortunately, neither he nor I can absolutely confirm that this is the book! He borrowed it from the library, and is not 100% certain of the title, and the write-up from amazon.com is sufficiently vague that we can't tell if it's the right book.

I don't know that I can confirm that was the book; I know Don was pretty clear about it being the book when he told serendipoz and me about his speech (which was, I believe, shortly after the first time he gave it).

I'm trying to confirm whether or not this books is the book I'm looking for. I'm trying to find a copy of a book a friend told me about - he can't remember the title well enough to be certain, and the on-line write-ups are missing the one piece of information that would be definitive. And right now, I can't afford the $3+s&h for the wrong book.

So - do you recognize the book? Is it the book with the story of Timothy Dexter?
