What's your favorite IRC client?

Two environments - Windows XP, and Debian console. What would you recommend, and why?

Pidgin, but my only reason is that it works and fits your requirements. I've only ever used the AIM protocol to any extent. Apparently they've added video chat now, but it's not implemented under Windows yet.

that is, the video chat portion isn't implemented under the Windows version yet.
