Sporadic update post

Gee, it's been a while since I posted anything about life in general. Here's a catch-up post.
Thanksgiving was at Don & Margo's (WANOLJ). It was good.
I worked 7-7 Black Friday. Saturday was a quiet day, with dinner at an Old Chicago with grand-daughter Naomi and her parents. That was fun, if a bit loud.
I worked 7-7 Sunday-Wednesday. It was a long week! (Yes, this is my standard long work week - but I'd worked Mon & Tues, off Wed, worked Thurs & Fri, off Sat, worked Sun-Wed.)
We dropped $1600 on assorted repairs this week - $800 on the house (there was plumbing work in the downstairs bathroom - we'd seen a significant increase in our water bill last month!) and another $800 on the car. The mechanic apologized - this was work that should have been caught and done when he replaced the catalytic converter last month. New manifold assembly and idle air control - the car was dying when we braked to go around corners. Turns out there was a hole the size of a pencil where there shouldn't have been - the backed-up heat from the clogged catalytic converter had melted a hole.
Today I'm making barbecued beans, and I'll be running off to
kosmickitten's at some point to drop off beef roasts (we're contributing roasts, she's cooking them for her Christmas tomorrow). Oh, and I need to iron some shirts.
Tomorrow is busy! Mrs. Kelly's Teas annual sampling at 9am, Minn-StF Board Meeting at 2pm, Christmas with
iraunink's kids and grand-kids after that (theoretically at 4pm), maybe back to the Minn-StF Meeting after the Christmas. Luckily, I don't have to be at work until 11:30 on Sunday - I'll get to sleep in!
We got Odd and the Frost Giants for the 7-year-old grandson, Season One of the cartoon Gargoyles for the older grand-daughter, and Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck for the younger grand-daughter.
We ordered a copy of The Heavens Proclaim for
iraunink's mother - Amazon is shipping it to
brotherguy, he's going to sign it and send it along to us. We'll be presenting it on Christmas Eve.
