at the Riverview Theater. It was a lot of fun.

sraun: WTF? (wtf)
Has there ever been a weekend before where the #1 film took in over ten times what the #2 film did?

[livejournal.com profile] iraunink & I went to see two movies at the Riverview Theater today. First we say How to Tame Your Dragon - which we have decided we want to have a copy of at some point. We stayed to watch The Secret of Kells - which was neat, and enjoyable, and I'm glad we saw.

[livejournal.com profile] iraunink & I finally got around to seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. We love the Riverview Theater! It was a 4:30 showing, so the tickets were $2 a piece.
sraun: Sleepy Precious (Sleep Now?)
We just got back from Ratatouille (Oh, my - LJ's spell-checker offers up Bouillabaisse to replace Ratatouille!)at the Riverview. It was a lot of fun!

Tomorrow night will be date night with wine & pizza - and probably SciFi Channel catch-up, we've got a week's worth of shows to watch!

No pizza or wine - instead, today we ate our first Brandywine tomatoes of the season (from our backyard). One for a mid-afternoon snack, the other as BLT's for dinner. After that, we went to the Riverview Theater and saw Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. We enjoyed it - I especially enjoyed the marriage! I can see why some people were disappointed with it, but I found it be a fun romp.

AJ spent the night - while we're waiting for the lovely [livejournal.com profile] iraunink to wake up, we're watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I went to look up the IMDB entry, because I wanted to know what part Benny Hill plays (the toy-maker). I knew that Ian Fleming wrote the book - but today I noticed Roald Dahl was one of the screen-writers!

A pointer to another National Film Board of Canada piece prompted me check YouTube for one of my favorites of theirs.

the movie, that is.

I think I'd seen it all the way through before. If not seen, at least heard.

I'd forgotten that the songs to spoken ratio was as low as it is.

I'd forgotten that Triangle Trade came from it - that's a gorgeous song! Anyone ever seen any filks that use it?
