The only person I know needed a hint was Lois. I gave her a ziplock bag with five of each color at Dreamhaven. It did not register with her immediately what they were, and she did seem a touch embarassed that she hadn't recognized them immediately. :-)
Assorted people asked where I got them - the answer was "Mall of America". There's a shop that has 20-30 different colors of M&M's, you buy them by the individual color. You can get all sorts of strange stuff there!
One can find that kind of thing at various places. Locally, we have a great candy store on Universal CityWalk that carries the M's in bulk by color. There's a M&M store in Las Vegas too if my memory serves me aright.
