Weekend update
Aug. 1st, 2004 09:58 pm"As you may remember, Bob," we watch dogs for Pets Are Inn. Last week we had a 7-month old pug & a 9 year old pug-cocker cross. They left Saturday morning (at about 8:30 - I had to be up at 7:30!). This afternoon, we got an 8 year old bichon. The bichon is with us until Friday. Busy couple of weeks on the dog-sitting front!
AJ (the grandson) came over for a couple of hours Saturday morning. Then I published Einblatt, and bought some books at Dreamhaven. Then it was home to TV and computer stuff - I spent a few hours playing bridge on Yahoo!Games.
Today, we slept late, then went running off to the drugstore to get my wife's glucometer [she got an Ascensia Breeze - I'm jealous! ;-)], and then to the grocery store for the week's groceries. Since the step-daughter & fiance are living with us, we have to buy weekly instead of bi-weekly. Home by 3PM to wait for the visitor, who got here about 4:30.
Dinner was a bunch of appetizers - pita, carrots, celery & hummus; cocktail weiners in barbecue sauce; shrimp cocktail; black olives; and fresh strawberries. And a bottle of wine - Yellowtail Shiraz, sorry, I forget the vintage (but it's the same as the last time I had it).
Then it was sort through Minicon paperwork (yes,
davidschroth, I did find your request for reimbursement), and our nightly walk. We're currently doing about 1.5 miles in just over 30 minutes - our goal is get up to an hour of walk. The dogs really like this idea!
