Vacation Day 6
Sep. 4th, 2003 10:27 pmGot Einblatt out this morning.
Went to the dentist in the afternoon. It's been a long time since I saw a dentist - over six years? The tech said that he saw people who were coming in every six months with teeth in worse condition than mine. Which Heinlein was it where everyone's teeth were from the small group of people who had good teeth no matter what the conditions were? I'm in the running to be gene source for good teeth.
After the dentist, we went to the Weisman Art Museum. AKA The Sheetmetal Fitter's Nightmare. At least half of it was closed because they were setting up a special exhibit starting tomorrow. But it was neat, and we'll go back sometime. Maybe yet this year - the special exhibit is about Museum Architecture, and runs through 4 January 2004.
Then we went to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and looked at their (much larger) collection for a while.
Then we went to A Passage To India for dinner - we split the veggie appetizer sampler, the meat appetizer sampler, and the Tandoori appetizer sampler. It was a nice dinner - although we couldn't tell you want anything on the first two platters were, we liked all of it! Anyone have any idea what the orange kind-of-sweet onion curry sauce stuff would have been? Maybe with a recipe?
Then it was home - kick the dogs out, feed them dinner, give Chela meds. Check e-mail & LJ. Find out Katie was in an automobile accident early Wednesday morning (1AM), and had a mild concussion (according to the doctor at 7AM). From what I heard, the doctor read her the riot act for not coming in for over six hours, especially since some of it was prime sleeping time - she did have a mild concussion.
I finished Have His Carcase this morning, and started Gaudy Night.
Still on my list to do before Monday - figure out how to get pictures on LJ, and upgrade my Linux server to Debian Sarge.
