Busy Saturday

Went off for my fifth CARDIA exam. It was at 1100 Washington Avenue South. I've been participating in this bit of medical research for 20 years now! It's a heart thing I do through the U of MN - IIRC, it's also in LA, TX, and Atlanta, GA. Today was about 6 hours - lots of questionnaires, blood pressure readings, visit to the vampire for a blood draw (IIRC, about 2 oz. total), carotid artery ultrasound, and a stress test. I think the worst test was when they took my blood pressure while I had my hand resting palm flat in a big cooler full of ice-water.

iraunink had the car - she and Margo B (WINOLJ) went off to IKEA, Menards, and Home Depot. I called them when I was done (the advantages of Margo's cell-phone), they came and picked me up at The Liquor Depot across 11th from the study. We got Chambord, an Australian Tokay, and a bottle of Fritz Allendorf Spatburgunder (thanks to jeff_duntemann - they didn't have any non-Trocken Dornfelder's, but this is described as an off-dry German kind-of-red).

Dinner at Pepito's (Mexican at 46th & Nicollet), followed by The Producers at the Riverview. Movie was a lot of fun, but of the 'fun once' type - we're not likely to get it on DVD.

Now it's LJ, maybe e-mail, and then bed. Tomorrow is laundry and visiting kosmickitten.

I inflicted Tokay upon my darling iraunink just now. In a cordial glass.

As was not really a surprise - she approves.
