I saw the doctor Tuesday evening - the appointment was originally set up to look at my foot. I get the occassional corn / callus, which I can usually treat myself with a pair of specialty tools - essentially a rasp & sandpaper thing.

This one got away from me, and it was in a location I can't see to work - so I went to see my doctor about it. He took out a scalpel, and proceeded to slice all the dead skin away - I am now a much happier camper!

I also asked him to look at my throat - he informed me that the sore throat I had was not the same as my wife's, but rather yet another canker sore.

Then he got to looking at my history, and before I walked out I'd given blood for an HgA1C and a Kidney Panel, and gotten a tetanus booster.

I didn't know what HgA1C was; found this on the web: The glycated hemoglobin test (HbA1c, also called "hemoglobin A1c" or "glycohemoglobin" and sometimes incorrectly referred to as "glycosylated hemoglobin test") is an important blood test used to determine how well your diabetes is being controlled. The test provides an average of your blood glucose measurements over the past six to 12 weeks and is used in conjunction with home blood glucose monitoring to make adjustments in your diabetes medicines.

It does not sound like fun. My sympathies.

A Kidney Panel -- my guess is, that's a committee of doctors checking to see if there's likely to be something wrong with your kidneys.
