Still more medical fun!
Mar. 26th, 2004 09:33 amKatie, the youngest step-daughter, had an emergency appendectomy just after midnight. Chela, the eldest (15-year-old) dog, is having at least bladder problems.
Katie called just before I got home last night. She was in the hospital for tests on 'non-specific abdominal pain'. We got a relayed message from her father at 12:15 this morning (yes, a quarter after midnight) that they were taking her appendix out, starting somewhere between Midnight & 12:30. Haven't heard anything about the outcome yet - I'm assuming no news is good news. Although this is likely to impact her fiance's visit this weekend.
Chela (the 15-year-old dog) is having bladder problems - blood in her urine, and she's "leaking" - as she walks around, she leaves small-to-medium drops behind every 2-6 feet of distance traveled. She also has something near/under one of her nipples - there's a large pretty solid bump, maybe a half-inch in diameter and a quarter-to-half-inch thick? The bump developed very quickly - wasn't there on Tuesday afternoon when she went in for annual check-up and distemper shots. I'm certain it wasn't there Wednesday night, and fairly sure it wasn't there Thursday morning - it's right where I pick her up, and then rub her tummy, while I'm hauling her outside. She's got an appointment with the vet at 2:20 this afternoon - more then.
