Now THAT'S a shopping experience!
Oct. 16th, 2004 10:09 pmIrene and I went to Ikea this afternoon. It was my first time, I believe it was her first time also.
Ikea is big. Ikea has a lot of neat and interesting stuff.
Ikea is the worst shopping experience I have ever had!
I have a pretty good sense of direction. Their store layout destroyed it. You can't go in to the store, got to straight to the section that you know has the stuff you're interested in, and then head out - you have to follow their path. Admittedly, their path has some short-cuts - but you have to walk through an awful lot of that store even for the bare minimum route!
I will have to be really desperate to go back into that store on a weekend or holiday ever again.

Date: 2004-10-17 05:14 am (UTC)For me, the difference between going to Ikea in Oakland and going to the one by Bigdale is almost enough to make me a teary-eyed Minnesotaphile. (Okay, so everything is almost enough to make me a teary Minnesotaphile. But still.) The other confused and milling customers are so much more considerate it's hard to believe.
