Morning - weekly reports, sigh of relief when I'm told that the Internal ISO Audit that I was prepping for (auditor, not auditee) and was nowhere near ready had been postponed to September. Big sigh of relief.
Afternoon - get caught up on all the stuff that never gets done Monday morning because I'm doing the reports.
Evening - gaming - I'm in an irregular Tekumel campaign, it meets about once every 2-10 weeks.
Tuesday
Mostly normal (or at least, as normal as they get) work day
Late in the day boss asks me into his office, please close the door - one of his fellow managers had complained about the way I'd behaved towards him the day before. Yes, maybe I was somewhat curt - but he'd gotten (and admitted it!) an e-mail telling him that what he was asking for wasn't going to be available until sometime Tuesday! I hate it when the user is a four-letter word - I normally try to call them customers. If I call someone a user, you may take it as given that it is in an upset (cursing) tone of voice. expects me to come up with a miracle because he doesn't like the answer he's already been given! Boss was understanding, we talked, yeah, I can see why the fellow manager complained, boss could see that I was not totally in the wrong, but... We agreed I'd try to work on it - which is fine by me.
Evening - go listen to Lois McMaster Bujold read from Paladin of Souls - I truly enjoy listening to her read! I realized in the after reading discussion that there is a cross-genre theme - it's a super-hero origin story. When told this, Lois was amused, and commented that she's been told of at least two other themes that she didn't consciously put in, but admitted they were there when pointed out.
