Feb. 7th, 2005 01:35 pmFor anyone who's interested, my confidence in Avid Microchips has been vindicated.
Sunday afternoon, Precious got out through the fence (again)[1]. We're aware she can do this, we're trying to keep a close enough eye on her that if she does get out, we catch her before she gets more than a house or two away. Well, it didn't work that way Sunday afternoon. She got out, and I didn't realize it for too long. Ouch.
Irene got a phone call from Avid this morning - someone found Precious Sunday afternoon near 41st & Cedar. That's about three-quarters of a mile away. Precious is now home safe and sound.
[1] On the list of "things to be done" is fixing the back fence. It needs to wait for spring - we don't want to be digging fence-post holes, or digging up fence-posts, in winter in Minnesota!

Date: 2005-02-07 07:52 pm (UTC)I first read the pre-cut text as "my confluence in...", which for some reason I thought was some sort of an article in a fanzine, and you were linking to something where your position in said article had been vindicated.
Well, it made sense for a few seconds, anyway.

Date: 2005-02-07 08:53 pm (UTC)I've been thinking about having my kitty "tagged". How terrifying of a procedure is it? (She's *very* high-strung when it comes to vet-things.)

Date: 2005-02-07 11:40 pm (UTC)The chip and carrier are about the size of a grain of rice - it goes into a syringe, the syringe goes between the shoulder blades, chip gets pushed out, away you go!
