ISO Cheese in Mpls

If you were looking for the best selection of cheese in the Twin Cities, where would you go?

The two options I have so far are Surdyk's Cheese Shop (just across the river from downtown Mpls), and THE Byerly's (Highway 100 and 36th Street). Any reason to prefer one or the other? Any additional / better options?

Objective is to buy cheese for a cheese and chocolate party at Minicon.

Recommend the Uptown Lunds. I think Minnehaha likes them.

Hitting Surdyk's when buttonlass is there is totally awesome.

Byerly's of course. Because we don't have one in Colorado. I have been to Byerly's and I love it there. I like the thought of you in Byerly's it makes me smile.

Would that be at Byerly's or in Byerly's? hmmmmmm

p.s. Mitch and I are coming to Minicon
I bought the plane tickets and made the room reservations yesterday.

I'm not currently doing anything for the committee. I'll probably end up doing some volunteer shifts somewhere sometime, but it'll probably be last minute stuff.

lsanderson has the right of it. Uptown's got better cheese than Byerly's. I'd just give the money to buttonlass and ask her to hook me up, if I were you.

I'm certain there are good cheese shops in the Denver area - you could ask mishalak or judith_dascoyne where they are?

I didn't think you were coming back to the Twin Cities for Easter this year - am I mistaken?

Surdyk's is good, and Shannon's advice seems to be good (I haven't actually had her advice, but I've had cheese she chose).

I also very much like the cheese selection in the Uptown Lunds, because Cheese Guy is working there these days. So I can reliably get a brie with some taste that's even nearly ripe enough to serve, for example.
