I ran across the following trivia question Wednesday:


If the wind is called Mariah, what are the fire and the rain called?

Answer: The rain is Tess, the fire's Joe.

And now I've got the song from Paint Your Wagon stuck in my head! It even kicked out Do You Hear the Pipes, Cthulhu! Help!

It isn't even helping to play MPR Keeper CD's!

I was going to say fire and rain were called James and Taylor, but apparently I am wrong.

Hmm. I've always assumed that all three were female, and thus that the fire was Jo. Online resources seem to disagree, but is there an authoritative source?

Well - it's from a musical. If you could find a copy of the lyrics and music used to perform it, would that be authoritative? Would this qualify?
