Not being certain who's local to me and who isn't...

I'm looking for a source for 30Amp-rated electrical fittings. My father wants to wire a 30Amp fuse in his car to a switch, and needs 30Amp spades and matching switch. (He pulls his car behind his motor-home, and needs to pull the fuse before towing - and it's apparently hard to get to.)

Any suggestions? He tells me that Radio Shack won't carry supplies that are 30Amp rated.

That's a lot of juice for a 12V system. I hope his alternator is up to the job. I'm a little unclear on exactly what is going on in this case, but... try places that carry gear for high end car stereos.

For an online source for that kind of thing, try Parts Express.

Also: J.C. Whitney - if they don't have it, you probably don't need it, although it may take you a while to find it in their catalog.

Okay, it becomes slightly clearer - no new loads are being added to the car, just the fuse being put in line with an existing circuit to... something.

So if he's going to pull the fuse for towing, why does he also need a switch?

Try calling the local Grainger outlet. See pp.348-350 of the current catalog (2005-2006, #396).
