Kitchen Update

We heard from the installers today - our new cabinets and counters will be installed the week of 22 August.

Nah - this is kitchen remodeling. Cabinets and counters the week of 22 August, afterwards we put in new seamless linoleum and paint the walls. We tore the wallpaper down this past Sunday.

[tone of naive inquiry] You mean you use your counters as something besides surfaces on which to place books?

But then, we have 50+ feet of books on the kitchen wall; it's not like *I*'m cooking in there. ;)

What color[s] are you painting the kitchen? Between you, 17catherines, and nlbarber, listie kitchens are getting a real working-over these days.

I actually cook in my kitchen!

We're deciding the exact paint and flooring after the cabinets & counters go in - the ideal flooring looks like stone with ground-in dirt. The paint will be something blue, green, or brown.

I'm also stripping a wood table I've had for 15-20 years, and will be re-finishing it to coordinate. Looks like it's some kind of hardwood - maybe oak, maybe maple, I'll get someone knowledgeable to identify it for me sometime later.
