ISO Private Pilot

I've got a co-worker who's thinking of dropping the ridiculous amount of money necessary to become a private pilot. He'd like to talk to someone who's already gone through the process first.

Anyone willing to do a phone conversation? Or maybe an e-mail exchange? Or have a friend you could put me in contact with who'd be willing?
