We had about six groups, maybe 15 kids total last night. That means it was a slow year. Busy years mean 25-30 groups, 70+ kids. I virtually never get a singleton trick-or-treater - usually two-somes, groups of three or four are also fairly common. One year I think I got a group of seven.

I have a lot of candy left over. I wish there was a way to know on the 29th if it was going to be a slow year or a busy year.

We almost never get many trick-or-treaters, so last night Rita and I dumped all our odd change--some of it very odd, foreign coins from Korea, Japan, Britain, Hong Kong, and Canada among others--into a bowl and let little kids take the biggest fistful they could get in one hand. Bigger kids got about the same amount as the little ones, except that Rita took it out since their hands are bigger. It was easier than candy and didn't result in a lot of leftovers around the house that Rita shouldn't eat (borderline diabetic).

If you need to get rid of some candy, I can think of 38 girls who might be interested in eating them *shrug*

Our usual range is 35-83, typically in the 50s. This year was 39, on the low end. It would be nice to know in advance, wouldn't it?

My ferengi side thinks the coin idea is cool.
