Kitchen Gadget Question
Jan. 9th, 2006 12:50 pmAnyone have any experience with this appliance - Back To Basics Egg N' Muffin Toaster? The two customer reviews at target.com are glowing. The write-up included confirmation of an assumption - I had assumed I could used scrambled eggs / egg substitute.
From what I can tell, it's basically an automagic generic Egg McMuffin maker. I did some checking at the grocery store yesterday - in small quantities, I can get the English Muffin, Canadian Bacon, pre-sliced cheese and egg product for right around a dollar - this is somewhere in the $0.50 to $1.50 cheaper than what I can find to microwave that makes an acceptable breakfast, and I can get 25% calories from fat, versus the 50% (if I'm lucky) calories from fat for the microwaveable stuff. I assume I'd be able to beat that unit cost if I buy stuff in larger quantities.
It's about the limit for the amount of work I'll put into week-day breakfast. It would be a definite win in terms of the healthiness of the breakfast I eat. We're very likely to get one sometime before the end of the month, unless I hear something really awful.
Comments?

Sounds like a go to me! I'm kinda thinking of getting one myself. I've been using a toaster oven for the last...13 years.
