Anyone a confirmed Janis Ian fan with copies of all the songs? I'd kind of like to get a compilation disk - an MP3 collection would be fine. I recognize Janis' name, but don't actually recall anything she's done!

If you haven't read Janis' write-up of her first worldcon, go read it here. It's great!

At Torcon Erin and I had just met Rusty Hevelin to do lunch outside the convention centre (yes, I can spell in Canadian) when a dimunitive woman out on a cigarette break saw Rusty and said hi. Turned out to be Janis Ian and we had a short but very pleasant chat before going to our restaurant. (Turned out that Joe Haldeman is one of her favorite authors, which is how she met Rusty.) Soon after we got back, I noted there was a panel where many of the authors of the Stars anthology were going to be signing the new book, so not missing the opportunity I booked on up the the dealer's room and scored a copy of Stars from Larry Smith and stood in line with Erin to meet, greet, and get signed. Janis Ian is definitely one of those bigger than life people, but is still really nice!
