Huh? That page would have been a lot more useful if somehow it explained or linked to an explanation of what the heck Liaden Universe is. After searching and finding Amazon pages it seems... like yet another milfic with some romance.
Sorry, you weren't really my target audience for that post.
FWIW, the overlap between people who like the Liaden Universe and people who like Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan novels is very high.
The Liaden books have a dedicated fan base - the first three books (starting with Agent of Change) came out (IIRC) in the late-80's from Del Rey. Del Rey didn't pick up the fourth book - for a while 'when's the next Liad book coming out?' was an entry in the rec.arts.sf FAQ. Meisha Merlin published the fourth book in 1999 (after the rights reverted to Miller & Lee). Meisha Merlin published three more books in the series, and the original three in a one volume edition - somewhere in there, the popularity was sufficient that Ace picked up the MMPB rights for all of them, and printed / re-printed them. Since then, there have been many chapbooks, and three more novels in the universe that are not part of the Agent of Change arc. IIRC, there's a sequel coming to Balance of Trade at some point. Fledgling starts a new story arc where the Agent of Change arc ends - as I understand it, it's supposed to be more story about the family, but not necessarily having the Agent of Change protagonists as main characters. There more about the universe at http://www.korval.com/liad.htm, including links to some sample chapters - I'd recommend the samples from Agent of Change and Conflict of Honors. It's a pity the Agent of Change sample is chapter two - it misses the great opening line "The man who was not Terrence O'Grady had come quietly."
