The Week in Review

iraunink and I have a quiet day at home.
Tuesday - I work. I spend the day feeling progressively worse (nausea, maybe some shakes and/or shivers) - go home after work and go almost straight to bed. Take my temperature an hour or so later - I'm running 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit of fever. Take some Alkaseltzer - settles my stomach, reduces the fever, I go to sleep.
Wednesday - the dogs wake me up about 3AM. I let them out, give them treats, and throw up. There is only one good thing to be said at this point - I hadn't had anything solid since about 1PM, and Diet Coke after that. So the ejecta was a sweet translucent liquid with practically no solids. I slept until about 12N, being interrupted occasionally by dogs to let them out. Spend the afternoon being a lump. Gamers come over about 7PM, no GM at 8PM, check e-mail again - gaming canceled. Shared Cthulhu Carols, Terrence Chua, Fred Small, and Peter Mayer songs with the gamers. Went to bed, took my temperature - now running 2 degrees of fever! Grr... Take more Alkaseltzer - stomach is still a little queasy. Middling strange - stomach is fine while I'm eating, and for a half-hour or so afterwards, then it starts getting upset.
Thursday - fever broke sometime overnight. We go grocery shopping in the late morning. Don, Margo & KJ (WANOLJ) come over for weekly dinner date - KJ brings home-made Hot & Sour Soup, D&M bring egg-rolls, we provide potstickers (LingLing from CostCo) and Apple Betty. It was a nice dinner.
Friday - eye exams in the mid-morning (iraunink and I both get new bifocal prescriptions). Don gave us a ride - much appreciated, we both got dilated. I react wonderfully to the dilation drops - when we came out, I was seeing stars around lights and halos around everything else - the halo I see around a stoplight is about as far across as the stoplight is tall. We get home, I take a nap for a couple hours - when I wake up again, the dilators are about 90% worn off. iraunink goes back to sleep too, but she doesn't get up until about 6PM. Then we have date night.
Saturday - I make eggses in the morning (eggses - eggs, diced meat, diced onion & green pepper, garlic, mushrooms, cheese, assorted spiced - black olives if the spices are red), andjiawen, davidwilford, Don & Bret (WANOLJ) come over for gaming (different gaming!) iraunink and I have left-over potstickers for dinner - there's probably one more lightish meal left in the bag (it was a big bag!)
Sunday - back to work, with the Minn-StF New Year's Eve Party atcakmpls' house this evening.
