Or someone with better google-fu.

Some time ago - probably 2-4 years - I ran across a way for hooking up the Insert key to do 'insert plain text' in MS Word. I can't find any write-up now. Anyone know how to do this?

Well, if it's not in the Paste Special options, try just pasting it, select the text and remove all the formating (Ctr-space, though it might be different on the PC). If this doesn't work, tinker with the Auto-Format options (ie, turn them all off).

Hmm... well, if it's not a standard keyboard shortcut, make your own. You may have to make a macro to get it to one keystroke.

(If you're sure it was attached to the Insert key, try all the combinations with the modifier keys.)

Tah-Dah! (http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=128) It's a combination of a key assignment and a macro. Hopefully it'll work in your version of Word (can't see why not). :-)

I knew I'd seen the article before, a couple of years ago, I think. And then I googled "insert unformatted text word", and it was the second on the list. :-)

I'm glad you got an answer, and it was of better quality than the one I would have suggested, which would have stopped before the macro came into things.
