sraun: Sheep Head - used for memes (meme)

Village Are You?
meme. She declared that I am Ringwould.

My first response was "I'm a novel by Larry Niven?"

Well, Wikipedia doesn't have an entry for this town. If I'm guessing
correctly, Google Maps is telling me it's a nice little sea-side
village.

Let's see - http://www.coffeebeer.co.uk/pintpleasures/dover3.html
claims that the local pub is named Five Bells, and is unusual
because it doesn't open until 3pm.

There apparently used to be a web-page at
http://www.ringwould-village.org.uk/

They've got a Church of England Primary School that they share with
Kingsdown - http://www.kingsdown-ringwould.kent.sch.uk/

UKVillages.co.uk has a page at
http://www.ukvillages.co.uk/ukvillages.nsf/villages/Ringwould-Kent?open&body=villagebody&root=villagebody

OK, maybe it's a couple of kilometers away from the sea - Google Maps
wasn't identifying Kingsdown for me.

Oh, that's interesting - the map at neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk
shows that it is does have some seafront - 2-3 kilometers worth
if I guesstimate correctly. But that's "Ringwould (Ward)", which might
be a different entity? It looks like the Ward includes about half of
Kingsdown. The population listed for the Ward is 1964 (in 2001).

Looks like their weather this week isn't too far off from mine - highs
in the mid-teens Celsius, which is around around 60 Fahrenheit - my
highs are supposed to in the upper 60s, which would be around 20
Celsius. They're getting sunny to partly cloudy, I'm getting partly
cloud to scattered thunderstorms.

There's a Ringwould Barrows near the village!

I think its main distinction is that it's halfway between Dover and Deal (if you're taking the coastal road to Margate). On that basis, I've actually been (through) there.

As for barrows, one of the nice things about rural England is that you can hardly go anywhere without tripping over Roman ruins, standing stones or the like. Personally, I like the fact that there appears to be a place called Knight's Bottom (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=637000&Y=147000&width=700&height=400&gride=636059.872751677&gridn=148204.113487992&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&up.x=307&up.y=3) nearby. I neglected to find out what "bottom" meant with regard to placenames while I was in England, alas.
