Minneapolis Route Recommendation?

Tomorrow at 6PM (end of rush hour), I need to go from 169 & 94/694 to the MegaMall. I see four semi-reasonable ways to do this:

1. 169 south to 494, east to MegaMall


2. 169 south to 394, east to 100, south to 494, east to MegaMall


3. 94 south (actually south-east) to 35W, south to 494, east to MegaMall


4. 94 south (actually south-east) to 35W, east to Cedar / 77, south to MegaMall

It's been years since I've had any experience with south Metro rush hour, and I haven't the faintest idea what construction is doing now-a-days. Comments? Recommendations?

I'd avoid 494 as much as possible -- they're doing some construction at the 494/100 intersection.

First I'd read about the construction projects. (http://67.106.3.244/MN_TRIP/index.jsp?area=TC_Metro) And then I'd take a look at the roads (http://www.dot.state.mn.us/tmc/trafficinfo/metrocams/mapindex.html) to see which are moving well.

You can listen to 88.5 FM to get the traffic reports from MNDoT every 10 minutes from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and chose the route that sounds best.

Does it strike anyone that going from the northwest corner of the Minneapolis area to its southeast corner really ought to involve less logistical preparation than this? (I'm certainly not saying that you shouldn't do it, Scott; indeed, you are smart to have asked. But in the land of "oughta," there oughta be an easier way.)
