As I noted in an earlier entry, CompUSA to Close All Stores (link to a Wall Street Journal preview)
I realized something this morning - they're the one brick&mortar store that reliably carried the Nokia Internet Tablets. Which leads to the possibility of taking advantage of their misfortune to get the new toy I want. Anyone willing to be an agent picking up a Nokia N810 if their local CompUSA has them in stock and puts them on a significant discount (30% or better)? It's got a list price of $479, so it's possible I could save a nice chunk of change.

Contact info is sraun@fireopal.org (generally good for 1/2 day turnaround), home phone: 612-822-0451 (turnaround gets ... interesting, but you'd probably get to talk to
I figure $479 at 30% off = $335.30, at 40% off = $287.40. The 30% off number is the minimum at which it becomes worthwhile for us right now.
Let me know how it works out?
