See, I grew up on the Bujold List. And then in the early days of LJ, I met 'Song. And then beckyzoole and I met via ... I think burr86 and bonded over various LJ wackiness. And despite having met earlier via 'Song, zarhooie and I didn't actually start living in each other's heads until Dreamwidth started up, and then when that happened lots of formerly unconnected people got to know each other, and all the department heads got to know each other as well. All the other connections can be explained as the natural outgrowths of those.
