Another Free Webscription Post

I'm going to be buying February 2009 as soon as I have someone who wants the matching freebie.
Baen Books has this nifty 'buy one, give one to a new customer' policy. If anyone has not received a Baen webscription before, and wants a free month, let me know! Your e-mail address has to not be in their database to get a free month. I'll take requests in the order they appear in my home inbox - sraun@fireopal.org.
First request gets choice of months - let me know if you don't want the other month. If you don't get a month this time, I put you on my request list, and you get first shot at the new months as they come out.
Here's what's coming up:
February 2009
Worlds, by Eric Flint
Man-Kzin Wars XII, by Larry Niven, Paul Chafe, Hal Colebatch and Matthew Harrington
Prescription for Chaos, by Christopher Anvil and Eric Flint
The Books of the Wars, by Mark Geston
Manxome Foe, by John Ringo and Travis S. Taylor
Ring of Fire II, by Eric Flint
From the Sea to the Stars, by Andre Norton

Date: 2008-10-28 06:02 pm (UTC)However - how computer literate is he? I have this DVD of all the Baen Free CD's plus the Free Library. It needs a functioning DVD drive and a web-browser. Alternatively, I can create a zip of the whole file tree and e-mail it to you. It would be a way to sample a big chunk of the Baen catalog - and practically the whole Baen author stable - for free. He wouldn't have to read whole books - he could read the first chapter or two and then decide whether or not to get the book he's reading / other books by that author.
Looking at your list - hard SF. What's his opinion of Hal Clement? Maybe David Weber, Charlie Stross, Robert Sawyer? Some Hogan. Some Robert L. Forward.

I don't know if he's read Hal Clement. He doesn't own anything by him. I know because I attacked his book shelves as a teenager and still haven't given everything back.
