Hello, I was noticed while clicking on the dragons in archangelbeth's Wednesday round-up that of the single colour two-headed hatchlings, the dams were lighter and the sires darker. The two that were already fledged were lighter coloured and female. Is this simply a fluke of the day or is the colour gender-linked?
Color in the splits is sex-linked. Dark is male, light is female. The coloring is identical until they grow their wings as hatchlings - that is always the point at which you find out what sex your dragon is, so they always go to their final coloration at that point.
I had not looked very closely at the cù dà cheann previously, so I hadn't noticed they turn one colour on maturity.
* {actually, I'm sitting here squeeing and clicking all the links and playing with the dolls she has up on her site, but I'm trying to act mature on the surface at least.}
A question about two-heads
