Shortly after Minicon I came down with a cold. Then I gave it to iraunink. Now she's over it, but it's hung on for me - I thought I was pretty much over it last week, but it came back Tuesday with a vengeance. Last night I was running a middling fever and crashed about 7pm, and woke up about 8am this morning.

Blech.

Called the doctor - he prescribed a ZPac for me. I'm hoping for a quick effect.

What made your doc think you have a bacterial infection?

History mostly. Leukemia increases the paranoia level.

I have a history of coming down with opportunistic bacterial infections after colds in allergy season. They get better and worse, and then I realize I've been ill for weeks, I see the doctor, get a prescription, I get better. 15 years ago, I'd be ill for 10 weeks. 5 years ago, it was down to 5-6 weeks. Then I got diagnosed with leukemia - a guideline I was given for being ill was 'if iraunink gets ill after you, and she gets better and you don't, call the doctor'.

I gave her my whatever, she got better, I didn't. Call doctor, get a prescription, call him back if I'm not better by the end of next week.

Yow. Lots of good thoughts and regards on that one. My Leukemia docs seemed pretty nothing-to-fret-about on this last turn around, which is good, but damn, I really hate this crappy excuse for an immune system. If you find someone handing out new ones, give *me* a call, OK?
