What's the last thing you ate? Wuollet's (local good bakery) apple croissant
What's your favourite cheese? Very Sharp Cheddar
What's your favourite fish? Salmon
What's your favourite fruit? Pineapple
When, if ever, did you start liking olives? I've loved ripe olives forever. I still don't like green ones.
When, if ever, did you start liking beer? That's a good one. It was OK before my 19th birthday, then until I was about 21 it was guaranteed instant nausea, then it only went with red sauce, and now "good" beers are all right, cheap beer is not to be drunk.
When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish? Don't like clams, mussels, or oysters. Adore shrimp, lobster, crab and crayfish - always have. Well, OK, deep fried clams are edible.
What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make? Barbecued beans (and she gave me the recipe!)
What's the native specialty of your home town? Duluth, MN? I'll use Duluth, even though I was born in Akron, OH. Must bet either deep-fried smelt or hot-dish (casserole to you non-Minnesotans) w/ canned white sauce (i.e., Cream of Mushroom Soup)
What's your comfort food? Potatoes
What's your favourite type of chocolate? dark, preferably at least 70% solids
How do you like your steak? medium rare
How do you like your burger? medium rare w/ lettuce, tomato & ketchup
How do you like your eggs? scrambled
How do you like your potatoes? Is "Yes" an acceptable answer? Chips or hash browns, then flavored french fries, then any french fries, then any other way
How do you take your coffee? mostly with saccharine, sometimes just black if it's good enough
How do you take your tea? Hot & plain

What's your biscuit or cookie of choice? Animal Crackers
What's your ideal breakfast? Veggie Omelet
What's your ideal sandwich? Hmm, that's a difficult one. I guess something with lots of veggies, maybe a sub of some kind?
What's your ideal pizza (topping and base)? Veggie Supreme, don't really care what kind of crust
What's your ideal pie (sweet or savory)? Baker's Square French Silk
What's your ideal salad? chef salad (the kind with meat, cheese, and enough volume to be a main course)

What food do you always like to have in the freezer? Frozen dinners
What food do you always like to have in the cupboard? Something salty - pretzels, Munch 'Ems
What spices can you not live without? Garlic
What sauces can you not live without? Red
Where do you buy most of your food? Cub Foods
How often do you go food shopping? big expedition every two weeks, occassional one or two item fill-ins (milk & bread, say) in between
What's the most you've spent on a single food item? $15-20 for a big piece of beef
What's the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own (excluding 'white goods')? Are microwave ovens 'white goods'? otherwise my espresso machine
What's the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen? Manual can opener
What piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without? microwave oven or can opener
How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients? chef salad 2-3 times/month, other stuff maybe once a month? Canned and boxed are my friends.
What's the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients? Chef salad.
What meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry? Lamb, venison, moose, and alligator
What's the last time you ate something that had fallen on the floor? Can't have been that long - no more than a week? I have dogs, which does cut down on that.
What's the last time you ate something you'd picked in the wild? Junior high? Long, long time ago

What's your fast food restaurant of choice, and what do you usually order? Arby's. I don't have a usual order - I like variety too much!
Pick a city. What are the three best dining experiences you've had in that city? Hmmm - I think that's has to be Minneapolis/St. Paul - don't remember anywhere else well enough! Not going to bet on best - I'm going with most memorable food. My second trip to Sri Lanka Curry House (after I'd learned to appreciate spicy!). My first trip to the sushi place on Grand Ave in St. Paul. Last Easter at Ichibans (introducting Irene to sushi).
What's your choice of tipple at the end of a long day? Diet Coke
What's the next thing you'll eat? Lean Pockets for lunch - Steak Fajita IIRC
