My weekend
Sep. 20th, 2009 08:47 amMy weekend this week was Wednesday through Saturday.
Wednesday was a quiet day at home, with laundry.
Thursday was a quiet day at home for me, with laundry & cooking.
iraunink spend the day at her daughter
kosmickitten's, helping her deal with recovery from day surgery.
Friday I worked a half-day (7am-1pm), picked up prescriptions on the way home ($220! Am I glad for Cafeteria Benefits!), and then went to see some Parade of Homes with
iraunink, Margo B & Julie J (WANOLJ). We say the cheapest home on the tour - it's a townhouse, and was not great. It was a middle unit - the end units were $10,000 more expensive, were about 60 ft2 larger, and were much better! Then we went and looked at one of the more expensive houses.
Note the master suite. It's 20% bigger than my house! I was actually impressed - Parade homes that size are usually seriously wasteful in some major regard. This one was pretty good - it had a nice layout, we all mostly liked the master suite. The big problem was that you had to got through the master bath to get to the walk-in closet(s) - there was a door splitting the closet into two rooms! A couple of hundred feet from the lake, with enough elevation that you shouldn't have to worry about flooding. We wouldn't buy it, but we might talk to the builder if we were building a big house.
Then it was off to the Royal Orchid Restaurant in Roseville for dinner - it was good Thai food, I had the Pad Thai. Margo's husband Don joined us for dinner, and took Margo & Julie with him when we were done. Then
iraunink and I went to the CostCo in Maplewood, then the Cub on University, then to
kosmickitten's to drop off stuff from CostCo. We got home about 10pm - it was a long day!
Saturday was sleep late, followed by Minn-StF at
kalmn's. That was fun! Home for pizza and bed.
