Birthday Breakfast

As many of you know, my darling iraunink gets breakfast in bed by default. This makes certain that she gets her morning meds at roughly the same time every day, as opposed to somewhere between 10am and 4pm, or maybe never, before I started that. Breakfast is usually a large can of V8 and either a toaster scramble or two packages of yoghurt.

Well, this morning I surprised her. Rainbox (and maybe Cub) carries this pastry - it's a tube of puff pastry filled with a stabilised vanilla cream (kind of like a very thick whipped cream), and then dusted with an obscene amount of powdered sugar. She had commented some time in the last ten years that she really liked them (and also that she knew when her ex thought he might be in trouble - he always brought her some then!). I picked up a package of them on the way home last night, snuck them in, and gave her two of them for breakfast.

She was surprised. And very happy!

Yep! Google Image Search for "cream horn pastry" has four images in the top row that look almost exactly like what I bought.
