We finally turned on the furnace last night. Rather late in the year.

We've managed to avoid that so far. Some years, it seems that there is only a week or so between turning off the AC and turning on the furnace. But this Oct has been relatively mild. Not hot enough to need the AC, although the house has gotten rather warm a few days, and not cold enough to need the furnace. Not sure how much longer we'll be able to go!

We have the choice of running the AC or the heat - I have allergies, we need to keep the fan going so the internal air goes through the high-quality filter. So, the AC was on until Tuesday night. Not that there was much cooling going on.
