We are once again a three dog household

and it's all carbonel's fault!

She forwarded me this e-mail from Twin Cities Freecycle:

We rescued a 3 year old Shih Tzu from a puppy mill. She was abused and skinny. We have had her for 6 weeks now and she has gained weight. She is up to her normal weight now of 15 pounds. We are looking for a loving home for her. We have posted a ad on Petfinders with a adoption fee, but we didn't take her in our home to make money off her. We just want her to go to a safe family. She loves other dogs and cats don't bother her at all. She is housetrained but has overnight accidents so we kennel her at night. She can not bark, the puppy mill cut her vocal cords. This makes her cough when she drinks water. A home with another dog or children would be perfect for her. She comes with her kennel cab, many toys and a winter coat, along with collar and leash. She is Black and White.

I showed it to Irene last night, she found her copy of the original (she hadn't seen it on her TCFreecycle subscription yet) and sent a 'we're interested' reply. We got a phone call at about 11:15 this morning, we were meeting the dog at 1:30 this afternoon, and had her home by 2:15. She really likes our doggy-door and fenced back yard!

Oh, yeah - her name is Precious.

I've never heard of anyone cutting an animal's vocal chords. I'm appalled.
