After working 9AM-6PM for five years, followed by about five months of 8:30-5:00, I'm now working 7:30-4:00. And yesterday, today, tomorrow, and Tuesday I'm working 7:00-4:00. I'm not used to getting up that early in the morning! I'll get used to it sooner or later, but in the meantime, I'm feeling a touch on the exhausted side.

I can sympathize. I've been working 9pm to 7 am for nearly a year. In a couple of weeks I'll start working at 7 am again. I don't think I'll be too happy about waking up to an alarm before the sun comes out.

Many sympathies. David turned into an early riser about a month and a half ago, so I've gotten somewhat used to getting up at 5:30, but I remember the asjustment period decidedly unfondly.

Feeling strongly sympathetic. What some of the sleep specialist doctors do, when someone can't get up as early as necessary, is ask you to stay up three hours later every night for 7 days, ending up with your actually waking up three hours *early* by your original schedule. And I've found out that if I need to go to sleep early so I can get up early, taking melatonin for a couple of days, or even an Ambien sleeping pill once or twice (an hour and a half or so earlier than your original sleep time) helps readjust my schedule.
